How Wegovy pen clicks work
Unlike the Mounjaro KwikPen (where every strength delivers 0.6 ml in 60 clicks), Wegovy FlexTouch pens vary in both volume and concentration. The dial clicks in 0.01 ml steps, and what a click "contains" depends entirely on which pen you hold:

The 0.5 mg dose comes in two presentations: a 1.5 ml pen at double the concentration, and a 3 ml pen at the same concentration as the 0.25 mg starter. Same 0.5 mg dose, very different click counts (about 37 versus about 74). Pick the right pen in the calculator above, or your numbers will be off by exactly half or double.
A full labelled dose is not a fixed click count on Wegovy. A 0.25 mg dose is roughly 37 clicks of its pen, while a 2.4 mg dose is 75 clicks of the 2.4 mg pen. That is exactly why a calculator beats guesswork. The result also shows the dose in millilitres, so you can sanity-check against the fluid in the window.
Using the calculator to verify, not improvise
The safest use of click knowledge is verification: confirming the pen is working, that fluid moves when you dial, and that you understand what you just injected. The labelled way to take Wegovy is to dial to the dose counter's printed value and inject. No click counting needed.
Where clicks enter the conversation is tapering. If you struggle with side effects on a step-up, some prescribers suggest a temporary lower dose counted in clicks from the same pen. If your prescriber does that, this calculator shows the exact count. If they haven't, don't freestyle it.
Wegovy 7.2 mg (MHRA-approved January 2026) is supplied as its own pen and, in some cases, has been administered as three 2.4 mg injections under medical supervision. Never assemble a higher dose from multiple pens without explicit prescriber instructions.

How many doses are in a Wegovy pen? +

Can I count clicks to take a lower Wegovy dose? +
Only if your prescriber has told you to. Clicks scale predictably (0.01 ml per click), which makes prescriber-guided tapering possible, but self-adjusting your dose is off-label and risky.
Do Wegovy pens need the fridge? +
Before first use, yes. Store at 2 to 8°C. Once you are using a pen, it can be kept below 30°C for up to 28 days. Never freeze it, and keep the cap on to protect it from light. Our travel guide covers flying with pens.
What if I miss a Wegovy dose? +
Take it within 5 days if you can. If more than 5 days have passed, skip it and take the next dose on your usual day (never double up).
