Editorial Policy: How GLP1Guide Sources, Reviews and Corrects Content

Health information is only as good as the process behind it. This page documents ours: where claims come from, who checks them, when pages are updated, and how we handle money and mistakes.

Medically reviewed by the GLP1Guide Editorial Team Updated 5 min read 5 cited sources

1. Our sourcing hierarchy

Every medical claim on GLP1Guide must trace to one of these, in roughly this order of authority:

  1. UK regulators and health bodies. MHRA (including Drug Safety Updates and the Yellow Card scheme), NICE technology appraisals and guidelines, NHS England commissioning guidance, gov.uk services.
  2. Official product information. Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC) and Patient Information Leaflets via the electronic medicines compendium; manufacturer medical-information pages (e.g. Lilly UK, Novo Nordisk) for storage and device specifics.
  3. Peer-reviewed trials. The primary publications in NEJM, JAMA, The Lancet and equivalent journals (STEP, SURMOUNT, SELECT, FLOW, OASIS, SUMMIT programmes), cited by name.
  4. Professional bodies. GPhC standards and registers, BNF, specialist pharmacy sources (SPS).

Marketing copy, affiliate blogs and forum anecdotes are never sources for medical claims. Where the evidence is genuinely uncertain or still emerging, the page says so explicitly rather than smoothing it over.

2. Human review and update schedule

  • Every page is researched, written and reviewed by the GLP1Guide Editorial Team before publication.
  • Scheduled re-review happens at least every six months; event-driven updates happen immediately when guidance changes. New MHRA safety warnings, NICE appraisals, licence changes (such as the Wegovy 7.2 mg approval in January 2026 and the Wegovy pill in June 2026), or major trial publications.
  • Calculators are validated against manufacturer device specifications whenever products change (as with the KwikPen V1-to-V2 transition).

3. Independence and referral links

GLP1Guide is independent: not owned by, funded by, or answerable to any pharmaceutical company, pharmacy or the NHS. We do not accept sponsored content. No company writes, approves or previews our pages.

The site is supported in part by referral links to three pharmacy-verification services: Monj.co.uk, iGovy.co.uk and oGovy.co.uk. They manually verify UK pharmacies before listing them, and we link to them as ordinary recommendations, clearly labelled. They have zero influence over medical claims, safety warnings, trial reporting or criticism anywhere on the site.

4. Corrections policy

We correct errors promptly and visibly. Factual corrections are made directly in the page, and significant corrections are noted on the page itself. If you believe something on GLP1Guide is wrong or outdated, flag it. Every report is checked against the primary sources, because being right matters more than being defended.

5. Scope and limits

  • Content is general education for UK adults. It is not personal medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
  • We do not name individual pharmacies as "good" or "bad" beyond pointing to verification services and official registers.
  • We do not publish dosing advice beyond licensed product information; off-label topics (click counting, pen leftovers) are explained factually with explicit safety framing, never encouragement.
  • Suspected side effects should always be reported via the MHRA Yellow Card scheme. We say so on every page.
