Identify exactly what is being supplied
Before ordering, confirm whether the prescription is for FlexTouch, single-dose pens or tablets. Ask which pharmacy dispenses it, how arrival is arranged and how to contact the team if the parcel is delayed. Keep the order confirmation, but compare the medicine itself with the prescription when it arrives.
If the service changes the expected presentation, ask for a clinical and practical explanation before use. A different-looking box may require different technique, equipment, storage or reminders. Do not assume that a parcel with the word Wegovy on it is automatically the same product you have used before, or that the same milligram number provides a conversion between forms.
Three presentations, three storage checks
FlexTouch: refrigerate at 2–8°C before opening. During use, the leaflet allows six weeks below 30°C or refrigerated; keep the cap on and never use a frozen pen. [1]
Separate 7.2 mg single-dose pen: refrigerate before opening. Its leaflet allows up to 28 days unrefrigerated at no more than 30°C, protected in the original carton. It is discarded after one injection; freezing or excess heat/light exposure requires disposal as described in the leaflet. [2]
Tablets: keep in the original packaging to protect from moisture and light. The UK leaflet specifies no special temperature storage condition. [3] These differences mean that a universal “Wegovy cold delivery” rule would mislead tablet users. A labelled allowance also does not tell you what conditions an unknown parcel actually experienced.
Make receipt a planned step
Arrange delivery for a day when someone appropriate can receive the parcel and follow the pharmacy's instructions. Ask about weekends, remote locations and what happens if the driver cannot reach you. A safe-place preference that suits ordinary shopping may leave a medicine exposed to heat, frost or theft.
On arrival, check the dispensing label, product, strength, quantity, expiry and packaging. Keep the leaflet with the medicine. Photograph any damage before discarding outer materials. If the parcel is correct and there is no concern, place it into the storage appropriate to that presentation promptly. Do not put tablets beside ice packs simply because your previous Wegovy product required refrigeration.
Handle uncertainty with evidence
If a pen arrives late or you suspect freezing or overheating, keep it unused and contact the dispenser. Provide the tracking timeline, receipt time, storage location during the delay and any temperature indicator supplied. Ask what to do with the medicine while the assessment is made.
Do not diagnose the whole journey from a gel pack being soft or the carton feeling cool. Ask the pharmacy for a product-specific decision and a replacement or refund process if appropriate. Cooling it again cannot extend its expiry or restart an out-of-fridge allowance. If the service's answer seems to describe a different Wegovy presentation, point that out and ask them to check the exact pack.
Make sure supply and treatment fit together
A delivery date is not a clinical instruction. If a delayed parcel leaves you unsure about a missed dose, use the leaflet for your presentation and contact your pharmacist or prescriber when needed. NHS Specialist Pharmacy Service advises starting with medicine-specific patient-leaflet instructions for missed doses. [4]
Keep future ordering and review dates separate. A service may need a consultation before dispensing another pack, while a courier estimate addresses only transport. Plan enough time for both. If treatment has been interrupted, obtain advice rather than restarting an old prescription at the previous dose or ordering a different presentation independently.

Can I apply FlexTouch's six weeks to a 7.2 mg single-dose pen?
